We are delighted to share that MicroLoan Foundation will feature in the BBC Radio 4 Appeal on Sunday, 12 January 2025, presented by celebrated broadcaster and writer Mariella Frostrup.
This special broadcast will highlight the transformative work we do to support women in Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. During the appeal, Mariella will share the story of Maretha, a single mother from rural Malawi who faced extraordinary challenges.
Maretha’s journey is one of resilience and determination. She struggled to provide for her five children and four nieces and nephews, with few resources and limited opportunities. But with the support of MicroLoan Foundation, her life took a remarkable turn. Tune in to find out how Maretha transformed her circumstances and became a beacon of hope for her family.
Tune in to BBC Radio 4 and be inspired by Maretha’s story:
Millions of women in sub-Saharan Africa live on less than £2 a day, with no access to traditional banking or stable employment opportunities. At MicroLoan Foundation, we provide women with the tools, training, and resources they need to build small businesses. By doing so, we help them lift themselves and their families out of poverty, creating brighter futures and stronger communities.
We hope you’ll tune in to our appeal and be inspired by the resilience and determination of women like Maretha. Together, we can help more women transform their lives and create a ripple effect of positive change.
