At MicroLoan Foundation, we enable the poorest and most vulnerable women in sub-Saharan Africa to work their own way out of poverty. By providing them with small loans and the skills and tools to start a business, we support them to become self-sufficient for their daily needs.
Over time, the money they generate from their own efforts helps to ensure food security, improved housing, access to healthcare and education for their children. We encourage them to make modest savings as insurance against future crop failure, family illness and other unexpected circumstances; giving them confidence in their ability to weather whatever life throws at them. Since 2002, MicroLoan has reached over 450,000 of the poorest women in sub-Saharan Africa, giving hope for the future, not simply handouts.
MicroLoan Foundation is committed to promoting equality and diversity. It promotes a culture that actively values difference and recognises that people from different backgrounds and experiences bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work.
